Trixir/chibiphoenix’s product development

case study

Problem

Trixir/ChibiPhoenix Gaming Studio had a solid product, but at the time did not have a deep understanding of it’s community.

Solution & Impact

Building and organizing a community was an essential part of addressing the gap between the existing product and the industry’s expanding demands. Including: creating a dedicated forum, organizing it, creating dedicated chat rooms and organizing those, crowdsourcing campaigns, building a strategic segment of VIP users & nurturing it; and eventually conducting in-depth interviews to serve as a foundation for product design and execution. The goal was not just to create a community, but to create genuine user engagement. This is key for any gaming company.
Once the community was there, we started engaging – conducting interviews, working on ideation, through collective intelligence, A/B testing of features, and general feedback sessions.Systematically documenting everything, and translating the valuable insights to the game design team, who had a tight deadline and a big mission.

My Role

  • Enhanced User Experience:
  • Feature ideation
  • A/B Testing
  • Cross-Team Collaboration

  • Stakeholder Management
  • Release Management and Quality Assurance

Reflecting on these exciting days brings back plenty of recollections of a vibrant environment in a gaming start-up, a powerful team, lots of fun as well as serious work. Wearing different hats and continually seeking to contribute more to success was critical for me.
Building the “voice” of the studio, and acting as a direct link between it’s community and game design team created an impact. The process included: collecting feedback, analysing it and providing valuable infos back to game design team actively helping the conceptualization of new features. As a next step, we would perform A/B testing on concepts with a specific community segments and detailing those, so that informed decisions can be taken.
The list of duties included, cross-team cooperation across several departments, planning, A/B testing, feedback collection, analysis, and feature ideation & brainstorming, community support.

"I worked with Ina for about 2 years, she is a driven professional that can work on strategy, creation and execution of a project. She is great with communication with colleagues but also clients. She is proactive and loves to solve problems, looking at the goals that were put for each project. She historically succeeded in building and managing several communities by keeping clients happy and the company profitable.
She has a lot of experience already but also has a lot of potential for future growth and development!"
